I used to think copyright notices back then had to be roman numerals, but I am probably wrong.

Using Roman numerals is actually a practice of the studios, to disguise a film that's been out for a while. It used to be common to re-release a film a few years after its original release under a new title. The copyright was put in Roman numerals so that it would satisfy the legal requirements but be difficult for the audience to read in the short time it was onscreen.

You probably knew that.

I didn't know that, but I had suspected it.

Thanks for confirming it.

Such a shame I cannot upload that episode of "Truth or Consequences", it's really good.
